when my histrionic behavior sharply increases

Postby yYyYy » Sun May 26, 2013 2:22 pm

is when i try to distract myself from something i don't want to remember
for example there's big responsibility goign on related to school?
i make tons of threads in pf or blog..... or like talk to people MADLY and do CRAZY behaviors
and talk about sex relentlessly
but when the pressure/stress disappears
i am back to normal self again, normal amount of craziness

can this mean that hpds are dramatic/attention -seeking in a way to distract themselves from fears/ etc they have?!

If attention seeking is your coping mechanism, it only makes sense that coping mechanism increases under stress.

Stress, negative situations and illnesses etc can all heighten the symptoms of a PD.

the degree of heightening of symptoms is kind of ridiculous
it's like 'umm it seems like she is more werid than usual'
but more like from 1 to 100
on and off crazy/inappropriateness

I agree, especially cluster B personality disorders. When I'm frustrated and under stress my fear of abandonment goes sky high! I've been in supermarkets where I freak out if I can't find the person I was with. Reducing stress is a good way to help your personality disorder symptoms. :) I usually try to imagine my happy place, I think of my home town in Hawaii, fresh lobster and a setting sun. It usually calms me down and helps me. It would be awesome if something like that would help you yYyYy.
