ADHD and HPD

Just wondering...might there be a connection between ADHD and HPD? A couple months ago I heard a couple women at work whispering about my ex-gf and saying she has ADHD (along with saying she is how she is for attention). I don't know if they were speculating about ADHD, or have heard this directly from her or someone else who knows it directly from her (the secretaries at work are a tight knit bunch). This is something she never told me. I have not studied up on ADHD so not sure at this point. It only hit me a few weeks ago to consider if she might be HPD...just something in my memory banks sparked remembering when I read about HPD briefly years ago when I was studying up more on BPD. I started looking into it and found this board and things are clicking now. But ADHD, haven't studied up on that yet. Thanks.

there's probably not a connection, one is a genetic issue the other is psychological.

Thanks yyyyy I'll check that out. My ex-gf -- she possibly does have a learning disability. For example, she often misspells words -- like homophones such as "are" and "our" -- she will often mix those up in writing. And she always spells "tried" whenever she means to say she is tired. Stuff like that. She also has a hereditary brain condition called "cavernous malformations" where she gets little hemorrhages of blood vessels in her brain. She gets migraines and vertigo sometimes. So I wonder about the role of that in her behavior.

My original question -- is there a link between ADHD and HPD -- I suppose what I also wondered was might her behavior/affect be more linked to ADHD than HPD.

Well I will tell you this, my ex has HPD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, odd phobias, and now suddenly began hating my guts after 7 years of bliss (i.e. "splitting").

I don't know if they are linked, but I definitely know they can be present simultaneously in a single brain (i.e. essentially the exact opposite of a good thing). Her histrionic scale elevation was confirmed by a PhD psychologist several months ago, and she claims she was diagnosed with ADHD a long time ago and has dealt with it her entire life.

Here's my thread on her if you're curious about the details. And certainly any feedback is welcome.....
