Children who become pseudo husbands when father dies

Has anyone ever read about or know a book about children who become pseudo husbands to their
mother when their father dies. I have read about a number of children, when their father died, who then took on the roll of pseudo husband. They get employment or start their own businesses at very young ages. And many of these children have gone on to be great successes in life because of the fact that they have become obsessed with being the pseudo husband and provider for their mother.

Looking for someone or some book that is expert on the effect that early loss of father has
on young children and the different kind of relationship that is then begun with their
mothers.
There is no question that something different is going on with such children and their
mothers and I'd like to know more about what that is.
