Overwhelmed and Stressed

Postby AriesFire » Mon Sep 24, 2012 10:14 pm

Wow there's so many topics on this site it was even confusing to pick the most appropriate one!

Anyway I'm 41 and have noticed it seems my patience etc has dissipated more and more over recent years to where my stress has surpassed an all time high and my fuse is shorter than ever! I've been to the point where I just don't care anymore and am just doing what I feel like regardless of others. It seems to be what's going on in the world lately. Perhaps I'm so sensitive to things now I can pick up the energy of the world...

As for my current situation,as far as my employment...I was 'laid off' back in Feb from a job that stressed me to the point I was exploding on my family and sometimes coming home and breaking down,so I think it was probably a good thing I'm not there anymore. The stress was hitting me from all sides there...traffic-ridden commute,co-workers trying to sabotage me,long hours etc. Plus the fact that it seems like the fcking world is out to get me with everything that goes wrong on a constant basis.

So I ended up landing a part time job in March and aside from the driving aspect it's not incredibly bad. But this week is a test because I've got fill in working double shift and even that's getting to me. It's only Monday and I'm already stressing out again.

How am I ever going to survive going back to work full time...if I can even find a job much less something I want!

As far as mental issues,I was partially diagnosed a few years ago with anxiety/depression but am not taking any meds or anything. My entire life I've just dealt with stress by running away, but now I can't run away nor is there an easy solution to all my constant problems...it's like a catch-22! I've looked into mental disability because of this fact I'm so easily overwhelmed and stressed how can I possibly handle it?...

I am 19 and I'm mildly depressed and stressed. Life is full of it. You probably think that I'm so young and I have a lot to experience. It's the truth. You have reached a time in your life where you're really getting up there in age. You're not a young thriving person anymore. you are in the golden years of your life. Try to enjoy what you have.

Exercise...eat right...find good people to talk to...go to therapy...find yourself...

You are a human being in a very stressful world...society has evolved into a stress wonderland. There is simply too much stress and it is now acting on you more than it has ever. Your coping mechanisms are failing or have failed...

Medication may help you but it is always great to find other routes. I say this just like all of those other people who have been on "Anti Depressant" medications. They lift your mood slightly and take time to work.

I believe that society is 1/3 of the blame and the rest is your habits and your behaviors. Society's economic crisis is probably contributing to your stress and other normal every day stressors have become amplified. You need to find yourself in nature and you need to find yourself in society. You need to find out who you are and what you are capable of...you need to refine the being you have become so you feel better about yourself and about your life.

They help deal with stress issues...so maybe taking a SSRI drug like half of the country is not a bad idea. Since people who go on these drugs feel benefits...but they are benefits that have risk for dependency. You need to find your station in life again. You need to find homeostasis.

Thats a lot of pressure, your not nutz (^_^)
Pushing things to the back burner and doing the next thing we must to survive has become a life style that killing us all in my opinion. What your experiencing is pretty common and in fact real and not something to brush off and beyond a lot of peoples comprehension, your doing your best with what you have, talk to someone again about it so you can learn to deal with things healthier before it gets worst.
