Hello everyone. I'm new here. Recently, I went to a psych. because of overwhelming anxiety due to impreparation for exams. Now, the exams are over, but I am still stressed out (however under CBT). I have just started taking cymbalta 60 mg alternate days after a switch from lexapro 5 mg. (I have only taken two cymbalta doses.) I have always thought my anxiety was serious cuz I couldn't really handle it; but it turned out otherwise (mild). I kind of regretted starting cymbalta since my anxiety is mild and controllable. I couldn't stop taking it abruptly either(cuz of withdrawal symptoms). I dont want to bear with the effects cymbalta will bring to my physical and mental health as it is still a drug. Should I talk to my doc in the next appointment (which is 3 weeks later from now)? Anyone here has similar experiences? Any advice would be appreciated.
p.s: sorry if this is a little long winded..

I think if you have any concerns about the medication you are taking you should always talk about this with your doctor. Definitely DON'T stop taking your medication suddenly unless for some reason your doctor has advised that. You may be having anxiety about the side effects of the medication and you should bring up any concerns you have with your doctor. For what it's worth, I take a much higher dosage of cymbalta than that every day and I haven't had any side effects at all from this medication. So not always are these things a problem... Mostly it's just important to talk things over with your doctor so that they can explain things and address your concerns and you can weigh up the benefits verses any potential negatives...
