Just wondering if anyone has tried Lexapro? Do you think it helped? My doctor put me on it, I took it for almost a year, but I dont think it made any difference, do you think it could be because med's wont work with my level of anxiety? Please help...im confused...

today was my first day on it and i felt great! i hope everyday i feel as good as today
you most likely were put on the wrong kind of medication, a friend of mine has been on multiple different meds before they found the right one for her, ask your doctor to try you on something different

Well it's been over a week now for me, and I wouldn't say I feel great, but I definately do not feel as crazy as before. My mind still races alot, but certainly not as much as before. I've also found that I have not had to consciously stop my thinking as I did before - I feel I can concentrate better. So far so good, but the effect is definately mild - nothing earth shaking.

I was put on Lexapro this past December while I was going through my third miscarriage....and at the same time just beginning to cope with the previous miscarriages....alot of sadness at once...too much for me to handle. I will praise lexapro as often as possible except for the cost because of its fair newness. I would definately be in a padded white room now if i hadn't started that med. It kicked in within a week for me and was just a god sent drug. Plus, it's half-life (the time it takes to get out of your system) is the same as how long it takes to take effect....7-14 days or so. just a word to the wise (common sense...) stay under a doctor if you want off it hehehe when i lost my child, i lost my insurance, meds, and doctor and it's horrific not being able to slowly reduce the amount of the drug out of your system..."cold turkey"...uhhhhg THAT'S when you start getting the 'crazy' side effects hehehe
Anyway, I praise lexapro!

I was on Lexapro for about 8 months. It kicked in quickly, within the first week I felt a burst of energy and more rational about my anxiety. The 2 big problems I noticed with it were - 1, I gained about 35 pounds in that time period, my appeitite was endless. 2, I almost felt my emotions were too muted and I lacked good judgement. Overall, I liked it a lot at first but pretty much hated it by the end. I have been told since that it is not preferred for general anxiety. But thats just my experience.

I'm currently on Lexapro, & at first I was the exact opposite. While first using it I had little to no appitite & when I did eat, it was very little. I also got extremely tired. I was sleeping way too long & no matter what I was tired all day long.
This doesn't happen anymore though.. Just in the first month or less when I started taking it.

Hi,
Lexapro is one of the most effective antidepressants, now available online at the lowest possible price. It will help the mentally depressed to recover easily.
