My psychologist is currently giving me therapies regarding anxiety, I am yet to be diagnosed.

I feel like this has been going on for sometime and I have only just started noticing it more recently, its starting to freak me out.

occasionally I hear snippets of a conversation I cant understand going on in the back of my head, and when I catch it it stops. I also hear sentences in my "inner" voice or in a voice I recognise and other times I cant distinguish them.

They don't tell me to do anything or say anything offensive or alarming. Its just extremely random.

Most of the time its just random words or snippets of a conversation, laughter or yelling.

Does anyone experiences this?

Thank you.

I've heard of this. (I experience it as well, but won't go into details that may cloud the issue)

Honestly, at this point I wouldn't worry about it. I've heard of 'regular' people that have similar things going on. It isn't necessarily an indicator of anything serious. Some times it is a case where worrying about it presents more of an issue than what is going on in itself.

But yeah, occasional 'voices' aren't all that uncommon I think. It could be anxiety causing you to worry about it.

It seems to be common in OCD and Dissociative personality disorder.

I believe the OCD is part of my anxiety, i can't help but think I have psychosis, schizophrenia or schizoeffective disorder. I research every little symptom I experience.

And my thoughts stay with me all day, to the extent that it intervenes with my social life, thinking and memory.

Could you describe your experience with "voices" ?

Thank you.

Well I have different kinds. Some are just pretty much 'background noise', almost exactly like you describe. For me they are not really significant or troublesome. Those kind don't worry me.

On the other hand, I also have alter personalities which talk on their own. (I have a diagnosis of DDNOS but now with more information and known activity it will likely be 'upgraded' to Dissociative Identity Disorder... but anyway) With them it is more like others actually talking in my head, with their own personalities and voices and all. Some times they get very loud and at times there is a lot of them, which can make it very hard to concentrate or do things. I've actually always had that to an extent but didn't know what it was about until more recently.

But anyway, try not to take any of that as an indicator of something. Which is why I didn't want to mention it because you probably don't need another thing to worry about, but since you asked... :)
