Hi I have been looking everywhere online for some help with parenting with anxiety but I wasn't lucky. I believe I have had GAD and SAD for as long as I can remember. But since aving kids it seems that it has gotten worst. My son is 3 and won't listend when I tell him to do something and then he has a tantrum, he's still refusing the potty and is speech seems to be delayed. My daughter is 1 1/2 she into everything and won't stop when I tell her no. All of this has been putting alot of stress on me and I have been feeling light headed, exhausted, most of all lack of patience and drastic mood swing. Now the way I see it is my kids will never learn discipline and manners until I get myself stabelised. I think I need to think about myself so that I can then focus on them. I think I should try some meds to help me while I work on it.
I finally scheduled a appointment with the DR tomorow morning and that's just making me more anxious. It just seems so hard to explain sometimes.
Do any of you have tips? Books to read?
Thanks for reading it feel good to write it all down. I hope someone can help.

Hi,
I'm sorry that nobody has replied yet. You must have been to the doctor by now - was it an informative appointment? regarding your children, I can understand in a way how heartbroken you must feel trying to control them. I believe that the most important thign is to remember that you have to be stern with them. Not only that, if you're stern one minute you cannot be kind the next. You have to make them know that you are the bioss and that if they annoy you, then you will not be kind to them unless they do something good (like giving them a 'reward' for good behaviour). Seriously, you must be stern and nevergo back on your word. They can learn discipline and you can improve your life at the same time. The two things dont have to occur separetly.
