Rev,

- "Will they dissipate once I finish college or will the demons in my mind find a whole new set of anxieties to plague me with?"

Think back to how you were a few years ago, and to how you are now. I imagine that you see yourself as being much wiser and maybe even a bit happier now than back then. So, why shouldn't this [improving] trend continue when you finish college? I have little doubt that you will find a new "set of anxieties", but you will be in a better position to cope with them. That's what growing up is partly about, right?

If you look at life from the outside inwards, you will arrive at the questions that you mentioned in the first paragraph of your post, such as: "What's the point in doing all this?" To be honest, there is no real point to it but, if you didn't do it, you'd end-up feeling miserable. So, it's just better to do it to prevent yourself from feeling miserable. You already seem to know this though because, whenever these 'questioning' thoughts enter you head you just go and work harder!

Yeh, I think I'm using the forum too much, but I noticed that no-one had replied to your thread and I didn't want you to feel as if people were ignoring you. Actually, I know that I'm using the forum too much, and I'm trying to cut down a bit in anticipation of the final year of college beginning in 5 weeks.

If there's something I have learned over the years, is if I allow my fears to get the best of me, all I'm left with is a hollow, empty feeling. I rather live my life having tried and failed, instead of being trapped in doubt and doing nothing at all. It's a part of growing up indeed...

Very wise words indeed, Rev. Plus - you know what? - since I've known you here, I've always got the feeling that you are a composed and intelligent individual. You are allowed to take small steps back every now and then, but you have the ability to then take a giant leap forward after that.
