Ok, so i`m not quite sure where to start. I`ve always been a shy person who keeps himself to himself. Although the last few months I`ve reached a new level of what I thought of as being shyness. However now I`m at the stage where I find it very hard to speak to anyone without going red in the face and really struggling to finish a basic sentence. These can be family, friends (at home or work) .. It seems to be random.. I can be fine one day and revert back the next. I`ve endured some pretty bad situations now where I`ve really struggled to get through. I now try to avoid contact with most people where I can (without trying to alert anyone of my issues) ....

I may wake up in the morning and look back at this and think i`m just being silly.. whether or not I am able to kid myself I don`t know... I guess I`m totally confused and it`s turning me into something different. I dont want to push my friends away because of these issues...

I mentioned this my GP in a recent visit (which was for something else, nothing serious) .. and they didnt really understand what I was saying.. (maybe I didnt explain well, I`m not good at opening up) ...

If anyone has a similar experience or advice, I`d love to hear your comments. I will stop typing now.. but if anyone needs more information, please let me know.

Hi, random_guy! Welcome to the forum. Maybe your GP didn't understand and it would help if you told them again. Tell them you have a real problem.
Has anything been happening in the last few months or did anything bad happen before? Are you afraid to go out of the house too? You are welcome to talk here and I think it will help.

Things have only been like this the last few months, nothing has really changed in my life to suggest this would start happening. I have problems and issues in my life.. (who doesnt) .. but until the last few months I have managed fine.. I`m not afraid to leave the house.. (that I am sure of!) Thanks for the reply btw!

You're welcome. So it's people that you feel really shy around? Maybe you were bullied in school or something like that and that might be why you have always been shy and now it's gotten worse. Sorry I'm not much help. Don't give up, you'll find a way to get better.
