To bring closure on a death

Postby EasyasPi » Sat Nov 18, 2017 3:06 am

I'm not sure what forum to post this in, but someone in my family had a diagnosis of GAD, ( my late mother) but in her 40s, in the last year of her life she was obsessed and delusional with having diseases. For one, it started with her thinking she had rotting flesh disease, she would hold up her arm and ask you to smell it to confirm it, and then it morphed into thinking she had AIDS.

Since she started with a Dx of GAD earlier in her life, and she was midlife with hormonal changes now, could anxiety do this and cause a nervous break down?

Her mother was schizophrenic and the thought crossed my mind about it being schizoaffective, because she regressed back to acting like a girl, actually bouncing on the bed like a 5 year old girl playing.

Thoughts, please?

P.S. This happened many years ago.

There isn't enough information here for anyone to say whether she has a specific disorder or not. Jumping on a bed doesn't necessitate a diagnosis. If you have concerns, perhaps seek out a family councilor.
