Emotional control/hyper awareness

Postby jenna1997 » Tue Oct 17, 2017 8:18 pm

Hello:

I'm not sure if anyone's ever experienced this, but for some time now I've been experiencing hyperawareness of life. Particularly in the emotional sense of things, relations with other people, and the "fluidity" of life. It's hard to explain, but I seem to anticipate what is going to happen next, or what I'm going to be feeling next emotionally. This doesn't allow me to experience my feelings/the moment smoothly, because it's like this hijacking mechanism that tells me "Oh, you're going to be feeling this next." Perhaps this comes from feeling really jaded and depressed?

It's like overanalyzing my progression of feelings, and not letting myself fully feel something.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I Havnt experienced this but it sounds like something that can be at work in OCD which is where you have a thought that everyone has from time to time, but your anxiety places special importance on the thought and so it becomes more frequent and soon it stands out like a blinking red light. This sounds really upsetting and distracting. How does it make you feel when this happens? Are there any thoughts, judgements or negative predictions? Do you have any fears around unpredictability?
