Mid 30's woman. I've had anxiety problems all my life. Definitely have gotten worse with age.
The last few days have just been terrible: Overwhelming, nonstop bursts of adrenaline. The odd thing is that there's nothing troubling my mind. I'm actually not much of a worrier.
I did grow up in a high-stress environment and work is fairly high-stress I suppose. Nothing crazy really. My body just refuses to calm down, setting off burst after burst of uncomfortable adrenaline.
For medication, I generally take two 0.5 mg tablets of Xanax per day. One in the late morning and then one in the evening. It seems that the more I take, the worse it gets, so I try never to go above 1 mg per day. (I only do so about 1 or 2 times per month.)
If Xanax had no side effects and worked consistently each time, I'd probably take 4 to 5 of those 0.5 mg tablets per day.
Nothing works. I just read an article about a man who's had lifelong anxiety and he listed all of the things he tried through the years and said nothing has ever worked. I have to say, I've pretty much lost hope.
Love,
K
