I Dont know what happens to me Please help

Postby Isidore94 » Tue Jun 13, 2017 1:20 am

Hello i am 23 years old male . The last ten years i have lots of anxiety but the last year i have a very big pimple that comes and go constantly wich has driven me crazy . I went to 3 dermatologist and they believe is caused by anxiety . I went for 7 months to a phycologist i said all my bad memories it helped but really not in the root of my problem( actually i have nightmares about being psychoanalysed but i am sure noone is going to understand how i feel ) . Is there any medication i could take that is safe and can help me deal with anxiety and the hormones that anxiety produces?

If it's medication you seek, the market is full of it. If it's safe medication you seek, that's a whole other story.

I would explore all of your options. There are beta-blockers, there are SNRI's, SSRI's, Benzos, sometimes they'll try and put you on anti-psychotics. No one can ensure their safety, regardless of studies. Coming from a psychiatry student, trust me. There are other methods as well, such as going to see a physician to get a check on your Thyroid, Magnesium, Vitamin B levels, and similar things. Sometimes serious anxiety can be worsened by low levels of Magnesium in particular.

As a fellow anxiety suffer, I understand feeling like you've done all you could in therapy. But sometimes just talking through all the bad things in life isn't enough. Sometimes there is also a lot of other work that needs to be done, work that includes building self-image, work that includes building confidence, neurofeedback sessions are also extremely helpful, I've found. Being able to see your physical response to anxiety helps the brain learn to control it. Sometimes work needs to be done in changing your responses to your anxiety and learning about the choices you have during moments of anxiety.

There are a lot of options to consider, and medications to seek if that's the path you choose. Wishing you well!
I like living in the world in my head because I'm in charge half the time.
