Hi,
So when I came home from school tonight I was sat on the sofa when I got a very strange, very sharp pins and needles type pain in my right foot. This gradually spread up my legs and I experienced very localised electric shock type pins and needles pain, skin crawling, stabbing, nerve firing, tingling, numbness and weakness etc. It was particularly bad when I put my weight on my foot, like when I stood properly on it. The sensations were intense and very disconcerting, it was a completely bizarre pain (a bit like a stinging nettle I guess?), spreading as far as my knee/lower thigh. The worst of it is now over but my leg and foot haven't returned to normal, it feels strange and twitchy and I still have some of the pains in my lower leg and some tingling in my hands as well. I'm 16 and I have an anxiety disorder which I've been dealing with for years. I often get random weird and intense pains, some which really frighten me but they're always temporary. I'm scared there's something physically the matter! My mum says that I had incredibly sensitive nerves in my hands and feet as a baby, so maybe it's just hypersensitivity? Could this just be my anxiety? I wasn't feeling that anxious beforehand but I'm so used to this chronic state of stress and unease now that it's difficult sometimes to tell the difference between feeling normal and not normal. I did a lot of walking with a heavy bag today (I have been all week) so maybe that's why? Does anyone have any similar experiences?
Thanks !
