Do most modern people feel uneasy about air travel?

Hi everyone! I am writing a paper about fear of flying. Since I know many people around me feel uneasy about flying, I wonder if it is a common phenomenon? Also, how would you differentiate between normal fear of flying and "aviophobia" ? Thanks!
