Anxiety Question/ Chest Pain?

Postby aliefswat1 » Tue Apr 08, 2014 2:54 am

For the past few weeks, ive been having chest pain that seemed to be getting worse. this past week, i went to the ER both Wednesday and Friday, received all types of tests, yet, the results showing nothing wrong with my heart. so both times i was sent home untreated. the weekend progressed n i started getting chest pain more and decided to schedule an app. at a cardio doc. long story short, doc finds nothing and assumed its by anxiety/ stress which i believe since ive always had anxiety all my life yet i never wanted to be diagnosed (hate adding chemicals to my brain), but my anxiety has gotten to the point where its affecting my life. (btw i dont think the doctor knew my anxiety was that bad) anyways she prescribes me 0.5mg klonopin which i was hesitant to take. i take one and notice that my pain is slightly gone but not fully. i decide to take another and boom! all the anxiety ive ever had my whole life is gone, i can now take full deep breaths, plus the chest pain that i head for nearly 3 weeks is completely gone! my frequent racy thoughts are now mellow and i have no fear of anything. miracle? now the thing is, she only prescribed the 15 count bottle to help me sleep at night due to anxiousness from fearing heart attack while sleeping, n told me to take one whenever you get anxious/chest pain. the pill bottle says no refill so im assuming when its gone, i will no longer be able to get it. i now want to get diagnosed for anxiety since i definitely have it. so my question is, how does one go about this? do i go back to the cardio doc and tell her? do you think once i run out, she will be willing to refill? i just wanna stop being anxious all the time, & get rid of my chest pain. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

WE always look for answers on the outside when the problems are on the inside.

What I would suggest is that you get a good meditation that will reveal the truth about yourself.
Once you see that it can be resolved by facing the truth about yourself.
It is a process, not a one time thing.
There is one I would like to suggest, it is called How your mind can keep you well and you can get it at Amazon.
Only the truth will set us free.
he truth can be painful, but, it is only the ego that hurts. Get past the ego and you are on your way.
Let us know how it goes.

Talk to a psychiatrist. Tell them what you have told us here, and if they feel that it is appropriate, then they can prescribe medication.

Good Luck!

PS

I went through hell with chest pains until I overcame what I was repressing that I had no knowledge of. The hell I went through made me call out to God for help and I was not into religion, still am not, I found reading about it was a waste of time, but, going into myself I found God through being shown the truth about all the resentments I was repressing..
No more resentments, no more pain. I ha problems as a child and didn't know who to blame, blaming others is not the way, but, taking responsibility for my thoughts was the way out.
Forgiveness is the answer.

Hey what i would suggest is get yourself consulted with a psychotherapist, who would be the best person to diagnose your problem and give treatment accordingly.Take care!!

You are under a lot of stress.
I would like to suggest that you get a disc on stress at amazon, I think it is called how your mind can keep you well.
It worked wonders for me.

It's just stress and anxiety man. Heart racing, high blood pressure, muscle tension, gastrointestinal disorders, insomnia, sweats, fatigue, bouts of energy. These are the most common physical symptoms. Anxiety is very physical but unless you have a serious health issue previously, its all harmless. Living with it might do harm though. In my case, gastritis and back pain became somewhat chronic.

You should take an antidepressant for main treatment and benzodiazepines for emergencies. Dont rely on benzos (klonopin is one) for daily maintenance as prolonged use can bring unpleasant consequences.

Its just anxiety. There are many medications and supplements for it.

I seriously recommend: serotonin or norepinephrine acting antidepressant as the main medication.

Benzodiazepine for those days where nothing else helps or if insomnia is too strong.

5-HTP supplement.
Taurine.
Magnesium (this one is great. See if calcium and zinc also help)

And be patient. It all takes a while to make improvements.

strange. I have these chest pains too. And I get extremely anxious around my friends, and if they are staring at me and if there is awkward silence.
