JekyllHyde, it would be good if you can get to see someone when things slow down a bit. It will be hard for you without your parents support but maybe you can work toward this? I really hope that you can find a way. Yes the school psychologist might not be equipped, but he/she will certainly have access to resources (other psychs etc) which may be better suited to you? Give it a try maybe?
Hey Trojan, yeah I know what you mean. I work in a male dominated profession and I was really comfortable until I started being treated as a woman. And I get pissed from both sides, that women deserve equity, but also that I am not a woman. I prefer male friends, but am married and that is not so cool now (my H is fine with it, but other women don't understand why I would rather hang with their husbands - you can imagine how it looks). It was much easier when I was younger but now that I am older I find the "gender groups" more inflexible. If I sit around a table with a group of people, in my mind I am one of the guys.
