JekyllHyde, it would be good if you can get to see someone when things slow down a bit. It will be hard for you without your parents support but maybe you can work toward this? I really hope that you can find a way. Yes the school psychologist might not be equipped, but he/she will certainly have access to resources (other psychs etc) which may be better suited to you? Give it a try maybe?

Hey Trojan, yeah I know what you mean. I work in a male dominated profession and I was really comfortable until I started being treated as a woman. And I get pissed from both sides, that women deserve equity, but also that I am not a woman. I prefer male friends, but am married and that is not so cool now (my H is fine with it, but other women don't understand why I would rather hang with their husbands - you can imagine how it looks). It was much easier when I was younger but now that I am older I find the "gender groups" more inflexible. If I sit around a table with a group of people, in my mind I am one of the guys.

THis is really challenging stuff. I hope you guys are well,
Sam

Yes Sam, I suppose sitting around a table with the husbands of women would to some people look a bit weird, but as long as the wives don't mind, and you and the other guys are happy with the situation, then what's the harm. For me, social situations are just too problematical, so I don't do it too often.

I've been looking for places close to my home that I could maybe get some help from. Walk to maybe, the only problem remains is...How would I pay for a psychologist without my parents figuring somethings up? *sigh* one problem solved, and another door of problems opens up.
'Tis the life I lead I suppose. Troublesome. Ah well, things may start looking up. Once my surgery this December is over, then I'll start working on finding something stable to work with.
Thanks you guys, for all your wisdom and help. I have found it all quite useful.
~Yours sincerely

Sounds good Kaleb,

Sometimes there are group therapy sessions or meeting groups (if you are in to that) that are cheaper. Especially for GID issues. Maybe there is a support group nearby? Also, depending where you live, there might be a public health resource?

I am glad you are doing well!

I'm trying my darndest to find something, anything...But there really isn't much in my little town. (haha...I guess it isn't too little, but it's little in comparison to other places...) I found a health place, but it's super far away, and the other health place in town isn't mental health, it's physical. Like for sexual stuff... >.<
I'm doomed... What if I can't find anything? I wish they had like...AA but for DID. DIDA? Dissociative Identity Disorder Anonymous? GIDA? Gender Identity Disorder Anonymous?
I wish...

Your not doomed. But I get it. I live in a big city and I still feel I cannot go to the anonymous centers because of my job - they are mostly related in some way to where I work. Some places have phone lines like "queer lines" maybe you can find one that isn't going to ring up the long distance charges?

Maybe that is what we are here in PF - DIDA, GIDA! Have you posted in the DID forum here on PF? I find the people there very helpful!

Yeah I post on the DID forum alot actually. But only when I'm here. My internet is out at home so I'm using my girlfriends computer.
Anyway, thanks. I'll try looking for some things to help me...
