Yeah, you definitely sound like you have GID. A lot of those things you mentioned describe the way I was before I started transition, too.

Have you considered seeing a therapist, particularly one specializing gender work? I think they'll help you figure out what to do and how to do it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I just celebrated my first year on female hormones a few weeks ago and I've been living as female for most of this year.

Thanks for the reply Zoey.

I guess I have two options. I can do something about it or I can ignore it.

Ignoring it would definitely be the safer option and would save my family some heartache and despair. I do love my family very much and the idea of hurting them is not very appealing. I'm also afraid of losing my job if people found out, and I really enjoy my job and the friends I have met there.

If I set my mind to it, I could make the transition happen. It would be the most difficult thing I have ever done however. I would like to do it but I'm afraid of losing friends, family, and my job. I do have a fair bit of money saved up. I could start to get facial hair removed while I decide what to do and continue to save up money for some time without anyone knowing for a quite a while.

I have some tough decisions to make.

Yep, that's generally how it works. I don't know about you, but the way I figure it, you really only owe your life to yourself. I wouldn't let anyone stand in my way and if they disapprove of something that in the end would make you happier, they just have to deal with that on their own. GID is pretty terrible to go through and it's still misunderstood. I certainly wouldn't have been able to go through any more of being "male".

Trance, the real crux of GID, is whether you feel you are the opposite gender to what your body says you are, and does the essence of you feel you should be in the opposite gender body. I think you need to concentrate on deciding whether you want to go on hormone treatment to change your body, and do you want surgery to change your body to the gender you feel you are.
