Hello, I am new to the site. I have been a gambler for many years. It has gotten out of control from time to time, but I have managed to pull myself out of it. For the last 4months, I have been sick and pretty much at home, recovering. I started playing casino games on the Play store on my smart phone. I have become so addicted, and have tried every way I know of, to block this site, but it just doesn;t work. Does anyone know how I can block play store from my phone? it is google based and comes installed when you buy your phone. This is such an injustice to people who struggle with this addiction.

Do a web search for "disable " instead of block . This may work better . Online gambling is , in my opinion , 100 time more destructive simply because of its availability 24/7 .

You should also be able to delete the Play app from your phone . On an iPhone , simply place your finger on the app icon , then press and hold until it starts shaking . There will be a Minus sign ( - ) on the corner . Touching this will ask if you want to permanently delete the app . From what I've read about android phones , the process is the same but the app is deleted by looking at " info " .

I hope this works for you . If not , you can go to any phone store and ask them for help .

The next step id to make a plan to fill your time with anything and everything . Having multiple distractions to choose from will help get you through the addiction's withdrawal symptoms and the urges that will come once you deny the addiction it's " fix " .
