With COVID-19 affecting the world, many of us are finding ourselves in self-isolation. Whether it is because you don't want to affect others or because your work has closed down for the next few weeks, some of us are dealing with the problem of having a lot of extra free time.
With all this stress and free time, it seems like a perfect opportunity for that little voice to give a reason to gamble. "There is nothing to do", "One small bet won't matter", "This will only be for a few weeks and then I'll stop", "This is a special situation". Stay strong everyone and realize that these are LIES and it will be a difficult time. These few weeks will show how strong you really are and I know that everyone here has the strength to do it. You just need to WANT to abstain bad enough.
Be safe everyone and I hope you all take the necessary precautions over the next few weeks.

It is good you have highlighted this, and I would add another one of those thoughts:
It's the end of the world, so why does it matter?
I've personally felt the urge to go mad gambling much more recently - it's a form of thinking 'so what' about my money right now. And that's very dangerous for all of us indeed.

I just heard news that some casinos are closing their doors indefinitely due to the COVID 19, maybe this is a good time for people who are regular there to kick this gambling habits.

In some cases this situation will help yes.
Casinos likely to close etc, and many sports where betting takes place are closing currently. I wonder whether many will find it helps them break their habits, or not....?

Well I lost about U$5,000,000 of client funds and U$100,000 of my own savings in the past 30 days and it had
nothing to do with gambling.
Yeah, thanks coronavirus.
/end rant
EDIT: Closing casinos is a good thing however.

Aw man ...sorry to hear that FM . This thing is going to wreak all kinds of havoc before it's through .
Good to see you checking in on the forum again and really good to know you're still gamble-free .I hope you ( and the markets and everyone else ) will recover from this eventually . Rough times ...
