I lost my girlfriend because of this stupid addiction

Hi, I'm Stipe from Croatia, 27 years old

I am fighting with gambling addiction since 18, luckily never borrowed a money, I always played with my own money but I can't control this addiction.

Since committing to myself and my girlfriend I have a problem I relapsed again at friday and she doesn't want to hear for me anymore.

This showed to me that money isn't only thing that can be gambled, we can gamble the most important things in our lives and that are family and in my case girfriend trust ( I still gain some hope it's not ex-girfriend ). I love here so much and I hope her love to me is enough to give me one more last chance,

I put her picture on wallpaper and lockscreen to show me how I am stupid and what I did.

I am joining tommorow to local gambling addiction group in order to help myself and to prove everybody I can it do it, and to prove it's possible to win this.

I want to be better and stronger man than ever.

This addiction takes much more from us than just money and it looks like you are determined to beat this. Determination alone can't beat this, but with a plan and execution, you definitely have a chance. Putting a picture up is great idea. A constant reminder of what you are fighting for. Joining a group is an even better idea because support and being able to talk to people who understand is a huge weight lifted. Since this relapse is still fresh, think of other ways to fight this addiction. Self-exclusion and limiting cash are great steps at the start!
