An addict can not use without.......

A drug addict can not use without drugs. A compulsive gambler can not use without access to cash/money.

Take away all access to cash/money and a compulsive gambler will be locked down. This will not solve some of the mental emotional issues that we suffer from but it will surely clog up the drain where the money is being thrown down.

It does help to restrict access to money, but money is necessary in this life and eventually we have to learn to have money and not use it to destroy ourselves. I don't have anyone to hold my money, but I have bought grocery gift cards that cannot be redeemed for cash, same with visa gift cards and gas cards. Sometimes as soon as I get money, I get these cards and also pay bills with cashiers checks so I don't bounce checks or pay the rent a month ahead with money. I have at times had to call the gift card phone number because I don't know what is left on multiple cards and I have four cards in front of me, but I will take that problem any day over gambling problems.

True. But this is a theory that only works in a fantasy world.
In the real world, an addict will always find a way to feed their addiction.

Again, this is another theory that only works in a fantasy world that does not, nor will it ever exist.
I know many drug addicts who sell their bodies for drugs.
I know several gambling addicts who lie, cheat, and steal to feed their addiction. Some gambling addicts even murder for ca$h.
