Conspiracy theory aside, I think there is some truth to this. Several scandals in football, boxing and other games have shown the shady underdealings of these sports. I think whenever there is a valuable enough position ( say for instance Barcelona Vs Las Palmas , with odds of 1.1 for Barca to win) If enough ppl take that bet, some institution that can affect the outcome of the match will take the opposite position and liquidate you.
This happens everyday in the stock market, options and futures trading. Insider trading is the trademark of wallstreet, i would be surprised if sports where untouched.
I have a different outlook on sports, like this, i' know i sound like every typical loser, I'm not saying they rig games for 1000$, but when it get's into the 100,000$$, i think it's obvious something is and can be going on, especially for leagues they don't make as much
Like say, you join an online site, you live in Canada, it's operated in the united kingdom, they know where there members are from since when you sign up you need to state.. and say you're betting on english premier league, which is based in the UK
and most countries are in debT ALOT
say they have 1,000,000$$ coming in from bets on liverpool to beat chelsea or something, and all the money is coming from canada, these players are from THE UK and live in the UK or somewheres there.. you're telling me a country that's in debt, wouldn't rig a game of sports and keep it on the down-lo, to make 1,000,000$ from a different country? taking a million dollars from canada, so the UK profitted a million dollars, just like that, for what? letting in a goal? say trump goes up to connor mcdavid, and tells him there's 100,000,000 on him scoring tonight? would he even take a shot? just thing's like this, idk.. like the guy said, when moneys involved, shade is involved, i'm not saying this because i suck and lose everything, hell, I know i'm horrible, and i'm not saying EVERY league, but i even watched a documentary of the mob going to kids (u20) leagues and telling them to throw a game and they would pay them a little amount of money, and then the mob or whoever goes and bet's 50 times that on the other team..
that's my take on sports but still cant stop lmao..
