Well done Veenie !
That is a powerful and positive step towards taking back control of your life ! This is a perfect opportunity to start filling up your time with healthier and more fulfilling activities .
Take a lok around your town and see what's going on - I spent quite a bit of time at my local library . I joined a yoga class , read more books , renewed my interest in gardening , cooking , puzzles , etc. Think back on the things you used to enjoy before gambling took over your life and revisit them . Explore new interests , renew old acquantances ! The key is distraction , distraction , distraction .
The urge to gamble will take time to lose its hold over you . Understand and accept that it won't go away overnight , but it will get weaker and weaker with every passing GF ( Gamble-free ) day .
The more you deny the urge , the stronger you will grow - one NO at a time .
