You are possibly right about my friend who supposely makes a living from sports betting, but I know he is doing this from a very long time and what I admire the most is that discipline that I'm missing...I assume he is making profit because all his plays are documented and posted on a site , so last year if I was following him ( which I did for couple of weeks but my lack of discipline, chasing etc...makes me lose at the end) it was 61.4 % overall in MLB and 60.8 % in NFL.
But anyway, I'm not looking down the people who play at casinos roullette or slots, etc...I was just thinking that is more easy to lose more money in a short period and I consider myself a bit "Lucky" I'm not addicted to this.In fact is the same gambling addiction, just different for money perspective I suppose. Maybe I'm wrong about my thinking but in no way I'm loking down...
Be Well and thanks again for sharing your opinion

I apologize Gabone, I wasn't implying or trying to imply you look down on those who gamble in casino or slots, the only thing I was trying to say is that I agree with you, and there is no strategy to beat something that cannot be beaten ... in another words there is no strategy to beat the house, that's why more and more people want to open casinos and gambling establishments because they know that's how they make money.

It's like you trying to fly from one country to another with no airline - you won't make it if you rely only on yourself, you have to rely on some airline company to do it for you.

That's why I say it doesn't matter if it's slots, casino, sports, horses or even some martingale or some laying horses strategy - it would never work in the long term, never .... Graham Calvert was a greyhound trainer, he knew the dogs in the race better than any other punters - he placed bets and made really good money out of it - but he lost it all, because he couldn't stop.

Jockeys who run on horses fall into this disease as well, I'm talking about the best "handicappers" you can ever have in front of you - people who have inside information - they all fall into this disease ... the media doesn't even talk about many.

Take NBA Players who made fortunes, many of them fell into this as well (e.g. Charles Barkley), those who don't are lucky for not even dealing with it in the first place, which is the right thing to do.

That is why I am telling you - that your "friend" who is definitely not the best handicapper I've ever heard of - he surely is not going to benefit from whatever he is doing in the long run.

Do you want to bet? Bet on yourself, it's the best bet you would ever make in life.

Agree 100% NoMoreBets with all that you say even I must admit I miss like hell placing a bet after 14 years spending my free time with this addiction. But the most important reason, like you said in fact, keeping me (I hope for good) far away from betting it is I know in long term I will lose all.
I know somebody ( it is not my friend though :))) ) couple of years ago who place a BIG BET 15000 $ on soccer and he won almost the same amount....He brought his family on a nice vacation and after he come back he wanted to place a bet again, he resisted for a while but in the end he said to himself “what the hell, easy money , I’m good at it” and he lost everything, even his HOUSE and of course family at the end.
In fact, we all know bookies they love when you are winning, they cheers for you to win specially at the beginning of your betting journey because they know you will come back and eventually YOU WILL LOSE everything. They don’t like when you are losing at the beginning because you have more chances to quit for good and never come back.So yeah very tricky...
Thanks for support,
Be well !!!

Like you I do feel the urges to gamble from time to time, I know how it feels and how it burns inside when you feel like you have to place a bet on something...

The best solution for me was to self-exclude, permanently close any betting or agent account with anyone that you could possibly bet with, I am actually in the middle of a lawsuit against one betting website that did not honor my self exclusion request, a letter was already sent by a local lawyer, I cannot disclose more info but I can tell you I am going to enforce any self exclusion request I make or will file lawsuits against immoral and unscrupulous people who not only run gambling establishments to flee people from their hard earned money (and it is hard earned) but they also have the nerve to not honor self exclusion requests.

Today, more than ever, it's much easier to file lawsuits and claim damages - if more and more people will take this route - then trust me, you would find it much easier to stop betting ... as I said I cannot disclose much information about this all but I am in the middle of building very big cases against very big names in the industry, it might sound like I'm a small guy but nothing stands against my will and nothing will.
