2008 to 2018feb

Postby Notogambling » Mon Feb 19, 2018 12:42 am

New member here. I have been gambling for 10 years, yes 10 years. Well I actually gambled 2004 for 1 year then I was able to stop it for 4 years, but 2008 up to Feb 17 this 2018 I have been gambling. Along that 10 years there were times I stop then go back again ,the longest I stop I think was 4 months . I am tired of it and I hope I can finally stop it for good. This is a crazy and I can’t explain why I did what I have done. It is indeed a bad cycle of winning small and loosing big so the end result is always I am chasing and loose big. I don’t need to calculate the amount I loss but it is already the past I can’t do anything. Though my business was good I realized that I am just giving away the hard earned money to this gambling cycle. It was really Crazy! The only solution I can think of right now is to totally give it up and never return to gambling. I must accept the past ,live the present and hope for a brighter future. Live normally by not gambling. I give up gambling and I like to say No to gambling! Like all of us here I can feel and understand your experiences count me in in this cause to stop gambling!

Welcome to the No Gambling Club!

Im now 152 days sober and its so awesome. Yes, I still have life issues, but no insanity and the future is looking bright. Its an amazing feeling to not keep putting myself in the hole and just deal with my problems as they come and make things a zillion times worse.

I imagine you gamble on sports, at least mostly because if you go to Casinos you go broke very fast, you cannot resist 10 years. Me too I was gambling from 2004, just sports and I lost almost 60k in 14 years. I decided to stop at the beginning of the year because in the end you chase your losing bets and you end up in a big financial hole at some point sooner or later. Even now I'm 15k in debt but the hardest thing it is I need to hide from my wife (she doesn't know about debt and because of the ultimatum she gave me about gambling and spending a lot of time analysing games instead dedicating to my family) and I'm very ashamed of myself telling this but stealing a small amount from her business account every month to pay the debt in about 1 year and a half from now. I can afford to pay myself but I cannot use my account because she check periodically to see if I'm playing or not and if keep my promise.
So, I think I was needing to tell this, it is very difficult I know specially now when you are thinking how many things you could do with that money instead of paying debts ....
