Hi guys,
Coming up to 1 year gamble free.
Me and my partner just got our mortgage application approved for our new property, we're very happy.
Managed to get out of gambling before my credit got ruined. Was also good knowing I had nothing to hide from the bank when they went through my bank statements, when assessing if I could afford the mortgage.
I hope for any one that reads this can take inspiration, if I can stop gambling anyone can and that is the truth.

Well done! I was planning buying my second home this year as a retirement fund as i am self employed but blew all my savings gambling

5 days gamble free hopefully will be in your position next year. Need to get myself out of this debt then get saving again!

ExDegen: Thank you for the update. What a happy situation to be in..........along with you, I hope your post inspires others to see that it CAN be done.......we don't have to live unhappy lives; which gambling certainly facilitates.....If we can just recognize what gambling really does to alter the life we could be living....instead of going round and round in that miserable cycle.......Thanks again ...always happy to see posts like yours...

Thanks for the great news! Very happy for you and your family.
I check in as well to say I'm doing ok after my last relapse in May (i think). I'm very busy solving every day problems so I don't come often to this forum.
I still feel the urges to gamble every time I feel I need more money which is very often, but I've being doing good so far to fight the urges. It is not an easy task, but that's all there is to it - fighting the urges every time they show up. Sometimes every day. Sometimes once a week. Learning to live with them. Like in the movie Beautiful Mind. It's different mind condition, but it's the same defence mechanism: learning to live with your mind playing tricks on you.
Big hug to every body and stay strong.
