Rat Park Study and Addiction (Theory on addiction)

I heard about this a long time ago and really believe it. I hope that some of you who are struggling will give it a read and think about it.

And here is a passage that I think speaks to a lot of people on here (myself included). I have added the parentheticals:

Based on the study the team concluded that drugs (gambling) themselves do not cause addictions. Rather, a person's environment feeds an addiction. Feelings of isolation, loneliness, hopelessness and lack of control based on unsatisfactory living conditions make a person dependent on substances (gambling). Under normal living conditions, people can resist drug and alcohol addiction (gambling).
