Appreciated NSR and Aries. Aries I did go 11 months gambling free back in 2008. Unfortunately I relapsed.I have been a gambling addict for most of the last 30 years. Started in 1994.Hopefully it’s different this time, I have more tools in place and more knowledge of how this dangerous disease works. Great to see you doing so good Ricardo and hopefully more of your goals will be met in this 2nd year. I am 200 days gamble free.

Thank you Sconced. Keeping my fingers crossed. 200 days is awesome. That is more than 6 months. The months will fly, and I hope you will achieve the one year milestone too.
I am glad to see some familiar faces still doing well. I am over 4 months gamble free now. My life is still a financial mess due to my gambling but I am doing well. Going through bankruptcy which is a lot more difficult than anticipated but still moving forward. Even though I am going through this, I am in a much better place. When I wake up in the morning I know what to expect. There is no longer the anxiety of the unknown. I have been using all the extra time that I now have to spend with my family. I am very excited about the future.
4 months is a milestone to be proud of and it sounds like you have a good plan in place for the future . Sorry to hear about the bankruptcy process but we all must choose what's best for our situation in the long run. I'm glad to hear you're doing well .
1001 days today. I first posted back here 6-7 years ago and this forum did help me rebuild although i ultimately relapsed. Im Back on the horse and doing ok.
Congratulations on 1001 days ! I hope you did something to celebrate . That's a huge achievement and we're proud of you. Relapse is common with any addiction and gambling addiction has a high rate of it. I've always felt that it's not the relapse we should focus on but what we do afterwards and what we learn about ourselves because of it. As much as it hurts , even relapse can serve us in our journeys .
I hope you're doing well . Be happy and healthy and keep in touch . Thank you for sharing your story with us . You are an inspiration !
We often say that we see the biggest change in our finances after we stop gambling. We start to see the debt decrease. We start to see savings. We start to have hope for the future. Even through we might still carry a large debt, think about what it would have been like if you continued to gamble up until this point. Quite a scary though indeed, right?
You're doing amazing and I look forward to the day when you reach 4-digts of gamble free time
Adding my congratulations Ricardo ! 500 days is an outstanding achievement and every day is just going to better .
These days , I don't even connect my present financial situation with my past gambling losses . The latter is fleetingly remembered as " Really stupid stuff I've done in my life ". Unchangeable and not worth dwelling on. This will happen for you too .
I am also looking forward to your 4-digit milestone . it's gonna be brilliant !
