Thanks Rising :)
I feel like I am normal now and I have no urges to bet.
I think my addiction was only because of chasing my loses.
Forgetting about it made the recovery very easy. I was always thinking that
one big win will solve the problem lol! My Dad says gambling win is the biggest loss.....

Well after gambling away $3000 in the last 2 weeks I'm back to square one. Today is day 3. I hate that I was doing so good then I get an offer for $100 free slot play and went down hill from there.

Sorry to hear that Joe . Relapse is painful . I think most of us have found out the hard way what that " free play " actually costs us .

It's just more bait for the trap - a trap you won't walk into next time .

Hi All,

One more day to go and It has been one month since my last bet!
the longest in I don't know how long,.. 4 years maybe??
I wouldn't want to post before this milestone because in june I blew it a few days before this mark. :|
A poker account that I forgot all about suddenly popped up in my mailbox.
I don't know why but I visited the site and lost 500 euro's in about 4 hours.
I lost all control, just madness!!!
I was so disappointed, so mad,.. so mad that I directly made up my mind that is was enough.

I realised that just one moment of non-focus was enough to ruin my life,
and 7 years of no money, no self respect, basically no life has made me open my eyes.

Want I want to live this way forever? NO!!
So here I am, one month later, fitter, happier, more self aware, stronger and more determined than ever. I'm trying to let go of this so awful addiction,.. the losses .. the pain.. and most important thing of all; stopping being so hard on myself, I'm just human, I've made mistakes, a lot of them, but I just can't go rolling in them forever. And the gambling will only make is worse.

to 30 days!!
Have a great gamble free evening folks. :P

I lost the bet, and that was on 15th July 2018.

It is now coming to almost a year since that bet.
Of recent, I did have some voices in my mind at times saying that I should just place some casual soccer bet. It does come on and off, but I don't give it much thought anymore.
The cost of living is getting higher by the year, but I won't succumb to these voices or thoughts that come through my mind.

349 days of GF and still going.

Nice...I made it.
There was some temptation over the weekend when cash was running low, and big expenses coming up. Voices in my head.......but I managed to overcome it.

I have a holiday weekend coming up with my family. Life is much better when it is GF.

Thanks to the Admin here and PsychForums for this great site. :D :D

Re: Post Number Of Days Gamble Free

Postby Peewee » Wed Jul 24, 2019 9:25 am

I am only 3 days gambling free. I have been trying to kick this gambling habit for about 30 years. I have made a consumer proposal to clear my $80,000 debt. That is not counting the cash gambled. I have sold my condo at a loss and received only $20,000. In just 2 years I have gambled $15,000 and I am left with $5000. I have lost respect of family and friends who no longer talk to me. I am 74 years old and I began gambling at 40 yrs. Today, instead of gambling I am drinking to control my urge to gamble. I am afraid to loose everything and end up on the street.
So here I am desperate and alone and wanting to die but I don't know how.
What should I do? I have been to meetings and meetings, counselors and rehab, nothing seems to work. I am Canadian and don't know if I am on the right forum but I am open to anything you might suggest and maybe some friends that I can share my experiences with.
