Someone Stealing my Panties

Google led me here, and thought might be able to get some information on the topic. I have two teenage daughters and they have friends round all the time, and in last year or so I have noticed my lingerie seems to be going on a walk about. Problem is, not only do I have no idea who it is, as it could be any of a few male friends of my daughters, or friends of my husbands, who are also round often. Problem is also, even if I did know who it was, what is there to say! Any ideas? It's not so much the horror of the act, but it's f**king expensive to say the least and I don't want to keep losing them.

If they are disappearing from the laundry basket and that's in a public place like the bathroom. Then I would have a second small hamper in your room for personal use.

If they're disappearing from your room, perhaps start "nicely" with a notice inside your lingerie drawer / the hamper saying- "Please leave these alone and buy your own." That might be enough of a hint that they've been busted. That they'll be embarrassed enough to stop.

If that doesn't help, then consider a discreet camera. They can be very cheap [or a repurposed smartphone.] Or possibly try to borrow one, since you won't need to all that long. That way you at least know who to talk to. And I think honestly taking them to one side and saying "This is an expensive and unfair habit of yours. You need to stop it now, or you won't be welcome here any more" is fine. Technically it's theft and they would NOT want it reported to the police.

Finally, a motion sensor alarm on the drawer would also put paid to it. Although more publicly than any other route. And there'd be a danger of forgetting it was there, as you dressed in the morning, and scaring the daylights out of the household.

But I think any of these are better than having to hide your things or lock them up. I guess this doesn't help if items are disappearing while being laundered or drying.

Yes, I can imagine that.

I would guess that it's very likely a teen boy. And he's very likely using them in fairly random fantasies. In which case actually asking him to stop may be necessary. Awkward for both of you, but it should only take the once.

However, it's possible that it's either a teen or man, who's stealing them to wear himself. And in that case, the embarrassment factor will be so high that the note will do everything that's needed. It takes a confident guy to go and buy their own, even using a cover story about a "partner's birthday" or going via the internet. I feel for people who'd dearly like to, but aren't able to for whatever reason. [But not so much that it's OK that he's taking yours!]

Have you considered the possibility that it may simply be one of your daughters?

When I was younger and my interest in sex was developing, I was curious about things like lingerie and often snuck into my mother or older sisters' rooms and peeked into their underwear drawers. I would even take some items and try them on myself.

If your daughters have male friends over often, they may be experimenting with their sexualities and influences from tv, movies, etc... might lead them to think they need to have fancy lingerie to do so.

She could always confront one of those guys and offer to give him some of her dresses and skirts to wear along with the panties
