"NBM" or magical body separation

Postby Corgano » Thu Jul 25, 2013 10:01 am

Hello. I found this forum through a google search for "legs fetish", and became curious to find out what those in the psychological community might think of my particular paraphilia, since it is still rather obscure, and there have never really been any studies done on it that I'm aware of.

It has become known to those of us who have it as "NMB", or Natural Body Magic, a term coined by the late wife of one of the online community's members. This fetish developed very early in me, at about the age of four or five years. It is purely fantasy based and is physically impossible to fulfill in real life, other than in the form of role-playing, video and photo manipulation, artwork, stories, etc. I have described it to several people in my life including my current girlfriend, none of whom have reacted negatively. But it always requires a bit of detailed explanation, as it can easily be misconstrued as another thing entirely. So please forgive me if my description here is a bit long-winded.

In short, it is the fantasy that a person's (a woman's, in my case) body can be divided or separated into various pieces, all of which continue living and functioning normally, as if it were completely normal and natural. The parts can remain separated for any length of time, and can be reattached and separated again, at will. There are different preferences regarding the method of separation, whether the separated surfaces are covered with skin or bare flesh, etc. My preference is for skin, as I am completely horrified by gore, blood or even the hint of violence. In my case, the scenarios are always willing and consensual, non-violent and with a certain playfulness; the woman wants to have her body divided and gets great pleasure from it. There is no pain, and absolutely no blood, though there are those who do prefer it. As far as my separation preference, I do gravitate toward cutting or sawing, which seems to me to possibly be a metaphor for the act of intercourse. I'm not sure. But ultimately, it's the actual separation of the woman's body parts that is most fascinating.

There are also preferences for which body parts are separated, as well as preferences for certain body parts in particular, with little or no interest in others. I have also had a legs fetish for most of my life, so my preference is mainly for sawing a woman in half at the waist, with a lesser fascination for head removal (I despise terms like "beheading" or "decapitation", as they sound much too violent and gruesome). I can be aroused by any part of a woman's body (especially if it is seen or imagined as be separated from the rest of her body), but it is her legs/lower body, and her head that give me the highest level of arousal. I often attribute my legs/sawing-in-half fascination with seeing pantyhose forms in department stores and magician's performances on television as a small child, although there could be any number of other explanations.

The most common methods to better visualize these fantasies are photo-manipulations and drawings/paintings, both of which I have created many, many examples over the years. Here is a gallery of artwork that I've done recently in an effort to shed a bit of light on this fetish, and hopefully come to understand it a little better.

Thank you for reading my post. I look forward to any insight, questions and/or feedback.

My apologies, I just realized that all of the images in my gallery were invisible. I've just taken off the mature content filter on most of them.

Thank you for sharing. I've never heard about NBM before, please don't think I'm being rude when I say you have a very interesting fetish. One thing that interested me was that you said that you liked both skin and sawing - how does that work? Does the body part around the saw? Or does the skin grow back? Because a saw seems very bloody,

Hi. Thank you for your response. It's not rude at all, of course.

In my fantasies there is a layer of new skin that sort of forms instantly on both sides of the division as the blade cuts through. Gore and blood are completely repellent to me and I associate them with violence and death, which totally ruins the fantasy for me. It's the magical aspect of the fantasy that turns me on, that the woman's body can be divided into more than one piece and she is perfectly fine. Although a saw would seem to be slightly more violent, in the context of my fantasy it's really just another tool for getting the job done, so to speak. As far as cutting implements, though, most of my fantasies involve more of a large, rectangular, straight-edged blade that is pushed through (like the ones stage magicians often insert into the box after "sawing" through their assistants), rather than a saw. Sometimes a sword is a good substitute. Also, many of my fantasy scenarios involve the woman/women dividing herself/themselves/each other while I watch.

Aside from all that, there are a lot of "mainstream" examples of images that are a huge turn-on for me in my particular fetish. There are videos on youtube like "He said he loved me" by Reverend and the Makers, and "1,2,3" by a group called Apogee, both of which feature dancing female lower halves and other detached, living body parts.

Okay, cool. It's funny that you mention it, because I thought of that song ("He Said He loved Me") when I first read what you wrote, ha ha.

I looked at some of your stuff on Deviantart. It's very good. You should be proud of your wonderful art :)

Thank you very much. I enjoy creating my "magic" artwork, and sharing it with the world, whenever I have the chance. :)

I could hardly believe it when I saw "He said he loved me" the first time. It wasn't absolutely perfect for my fetish, but it was the closest thing I'd ever seen, by far. Personally I would have preferred to see a nice smooth, flat expanse of skin on the tops of the waists, but I assume the symbolism of the cutting board and the fish have some deeper meaning to the video. Plus, I'm sure the artistic vision of the director and the budget played a big role. Still, I couldn't stop watching it for a good week or so. I love to imagine that the ladies' top halves are sitting just off to the side, watching and controlling their lower halves. ;)

Just out of curiosity, there's something that I'd like to present here for anyone who might care to comment. As a professional artist, I often give serious thought to the possibility of "coming out" with my fetish, and going mainstream with my artwork that depicts it. The two major concerns that invariably arise are 1), how exactly might it be perceived by a mainstream audience, and 2) how might it affect my career as an artist? Not to mention how it might affect my personal life. I've only told a handful of close friends and my two most recent girlfriends about my fetish. None of them have had negative reactions to hearing about it, but there's still an almost paralyzing fear of how other people might react.

Maybe I'm over-thinking the whole thing, as there's probably no real need to ever "come out" and present myself as a fetishist. But nonetheless, I'm still very curious as to what people outside of my fetish my think about the idea.
