Given the course this thread has taken, it's been moved to Significant others forum, where a little vented... frustration... is acceptable, which would be considered frankly inappropriate out in the forums for the disorders themselves. As technically the disorder forums are respectively for those suffering it- although by its very nature, not too many people admit to being delusional and come for help, because, Delusion.

This forum is more forgiving of frustrated others in the person's life.

She needs to be urged to get professional help. Especially if she's actively, or going through bouts of self-harm. Self-harm in itself can become a very addictive, unhealthy coping mechanism. Been there, done it. Does she openly self-harm? Most of us who do/have done self-harm are fairly scrupulous about not getting caught, not getting found out. And if she's doing it in uncontrolled fits, that's just scary. And if its her face, then that sounds like a vicious cycle, since she's upset about her looks.

Refresh my memory: since you mentioned 'our' kids- has she also kids? Has she a spouse or boyfriend? If she harms herself severely enough, it may be time for some forceful intervention. If she has kids, they don't need to be around this. Your kids don't need to be around this.
