Proposal, plus a slap

Why would he do this? My bf proposed to me. I said no, even though we'd talked about it previously, because his behavior towards me was very ambivalent, imo. I wasn't ready, anyway. Then he took me out to a party, where all our friends were, and basically called me a whore in front of everyone and embarrassed me as much as he could. Where did this come from? I just can't understand it. How can he want to marry me one day, and hate my guts the next? Does this make any sense to anyone? I guess "no" was the right answer, huh?

Yeah i think it was, even if he was hurt by you saying no, he has no write to call you a whore...
