He's really into nature and all that kind of stuff. So your inner world sounds like a beautiful. I don't know... A part of me is thinking that I should actually just draw that when I get my drawing tablet this week. And with your permission, I would LOVE to see if I could give my hand at trying to draw it. Especially the tree. It just sounds so breath-takingly beautiful.

Oh how sweet! : ) I would love for you to draw it.
Let your imagination run wild.
If only I could visit his and decorate! He-he-he.

linn's wood is very wonderful. ell's wood not so much.

*TW* the ponds have a terrible stillness. hardly do i go to the beaches because when you look into the water you see skeletons and corpses. the corpses aren't exactly corpses because they are alive but not alive. they don't reach out. i think if they could reach out it would be less bad. they just float there. disembodied heads and stuff. is the head disembodied or is the body disembodied? i don't know, but they just stare at you and blink. it's very creepy and a little scary. the wild little kinderkin love it and my mother does not mind it because it is very much like the waterfall in many ways. i have not been to the waterfall though. if i fear the ponds the waterfall will haunt me forever. i do like looking for mushrooms and picking thorns from the thistle, but i am weary of the water. sometimes i want to get away from the madness and the blood and the knives and stay with my aunt linn. *END TW*

i like aunt linn's guest house. the kinderkin come and go there too because it has lots of nooks and little doors and cupboards and cabinets and crawl spaces and places to get holed up. aunt linn has a lake too, but hers is crystaline water and the bottom of the lake shines like pearls. her garden is very nice too. also the plants do not bite you or trip you there. -rochelle

Everything has it's reasons I guess, but I personally would much prefer to live in the "happier" place. But as long as everyone has their own place where they are comfortable being - that's what matters :)

I actually didn't think I'd ever have anything to post here, but looks like I was wrong, again. I guess when I decided to really start accepting everything, I was allowed to be more aware of things. While I don't know where my alters *or even I* normally go to when we are not fronting, I have been made aware of something else.

***Trigger warning, just in case***
Apparently there are a couple different buildings. Prisons. Last night as I was going to sleep, I called out for Shawnee. I asked if anyone knew where she went, or what happened, because I couldn't sense her anymore, and someone told me, "She was sent to the main prison." I don't know whose voice that was, but I think it was the warden of the main prison. The next day *Today* I got some sort of images of the prisons. In the main prison, there are three floors, all with individual cells. I was made aware that I apparently have a lot of regularly violent alters, ones that don't want to cooperate, and ones that try to go against the system. So I guess creating the prisons was a necessary thing. Each prison has their own warden who controls the alters that are sent to and from the prisons. If the voice I heard tell me about Shawnee is the warden of the main prison, she sounds like an emotionally cold, hard-ass female. I didn't sense that she was mean, just that she doesn't play around. I felt Shawnee again today at work, when she came back from the prison, and she was a LOT more subdued, and only showed up briefly before going back inside. Whatever they do in those prisons, it certainly helps. Apparently Shawnee's behavior was unacceptable, so she was sent there.

So I don't know about where everyone normally lives, but at least I know now that I have a lot of unpredictable alters and most are housed and sent to/from prisons. Yet I only know anything about the main prison.

***End trigger warning***

Geez. It's like once I decided to start accepting, I seriously opened a floodgate of all of this stuff I've been denying and ignoring my whole life.

Ours is a big natural world. When we were in the hospital this was actually an assignment we had, to draw our internal space. If I ever get our scanner working I might scan it in for reference.

G lives at the bottom of an inky, icy sea. The landscape near her sea is often stormy and looks a lot like idyllic pictures of Ireland or Scotland. There's a pier for anyone trying to get ahold of her who can't swim or can't go to the bottom of an ocean. There are lots of seals swimming in the ocean, mermaids and fish too. G says there are other things deeper down too.

G has a foothill/smaller mountain which we call her file cabinet. It's an extensive cave system which no one is allowed into without G's permission. It is often where we go during guided imagery in therapy if we're trying to get rid of a nasty memory. G will open up a part of the mountain - we'll bury the ashes of the memory and then she'll stomp the ground until the mountain collapses onto the memory.

S3 lives on a snowy mountain that goes up, almost without end. It is always snowing with little signs of life aside from the occasionally paw print. Her mountain slopes into C's forest. It always smells very nice on the mountain.

C lives in a bamboo forest. The forest has a reflecting pool in the middle and receives a light snowfall where it backs into Snow's mountain. Throughout the forest there are several trees that have bells tied to them, so while it is possible to sit in silence, often there are bells chiming, especially as one walks through the forest.

E lives in a massive swamp with a plantation in the middle and a graveyard. There's a little yellow motorboat for getting through deeper water although E says it's possible to walk through most of the swamp. There are lots of creatures that live in the woods.

S1 lives at the edge of the swamp. She lives on the other side of a small river/creek flowing out of the swamp in a grove of pine trees. She lives in Snoopy's dog house despite the fact she's not a dog.

V1 lives in a savannah. There are lots of baobab trees and lots of places to hide, but there is almost always the sense of being watched by something just out of sight. In the middle of the savannah there is a gigantic bonfire with several logs for sitting. It is always burning. More recently, V1 has started showing the rest of us/or building onto her savannah. It now has an area of huge old growth trees, tall like the red woods, but clearly jungle. She has a very intricate treehouse built throughout the treetops.

S2 lives in a black void that is always warm. He has a cuddly blanket with blue and yellow stripes.

V2 lives in a large, dirty apartment in a dirty, rundown neighborhood. He doesn't seem bothered by the dirt or the rundown appearance of the neighborhood as long as he can have his armchair.

I have a floating island I can go to. It's got an everblooming cherry tree and bushes for hiding.

We have a few common places:

The dark place, an area of sensory deprivation. It's just black, sometimes dark blue. It's very comforting and often used for meetings or discussions.

The garden, a huge garden surrounded by a peach-colored wall that is tall enough that only G can see over it. There are lots of elm trees and rose bushes throughout. There is also a garden which has lots of fruits and vegetables growing. Near the garden there's a water mill next to a creek. There is also a pit which is used as a containment unit when someone is being hurtful/dangerous. The garden leads into a deciduous forest that leads to the back of G's mountain. In the forest there is a meadow of colorful wildflowers and tall grass that constantly has butterflies flying in clouds over the top.

The screaming place, a post-apocolyptic wasteland. This is an orange desert constantly in a state of turmoil. There is no life in this land, only the remnants thereof such as dead branches. The sky is constantly in a state of a rumbly lightning storm and the area feels electric. There are strange rock formations throughout the area. In the center, there is a colorful striation in the ground, orange, jagged reds, jagged browns, jagged blacks, even a few purples out in an angry, raging circle. This is a place where anyone can go to safely release anger or scream or do what they need to do.

Other places we can go, but generally don't:

The lakebed, a valley that used to be a lake but is now just dried, cracked dirt. Everything is yellow in this landscape and very dusty. It's also very, very hot. Up on the mountain surrounding the valley there is a cave with pot filled with cooling water, a bedroll, a quill pen and a lamp like the one in Aladdin. There is a very uncomfortable feeling about this area, but what's uncomfortable about it hasn't been identified yet. This mountain is also a foothill of S3's mountain.

The coniferous forest, a very, very dense forest with a dirt road partitioning it. This area also feels very uncomfortable for unknown reasons.
We're not invited.

We have this big rooms with doors and hallways that are locked. It doesn't confine itself to physical possibilities, and everyone sees it different. For example, if I'm aware of one person, I can unlock their door. However, I can be aware of two people that aren't aware of each other. They can both be viewed by me as in the same room, but to them, there's a door between them and they can't see what's beyond it. Even the way to open it changes. To my little, she magically knows what colour crayon to use on the door to unlock it. Most of the others find a key in their pocket, and Tennent, my protector, has a key card that upgrades itself automatically. The hallways, according to Tennent are endless, and just lead to more locked doors. It's impossible to find new people without knowing the exact directions to take.

Re: Your Headspace?

Postby lifelongthing » Sun Oct 07, 2012 8:49 am

.. Just wanted to say thanks for asking this question cause it helped our system communicate about our headspace. we've tried for a long time to work out how our inner world works (there's a ton of rules in there..) and tried asking each other what our places look like, but no ones really answered too much or shared much. With this question though, only 8 of us haven't answered what they're place looks like - and several of them we don't have contact with anyways. Everyone else has answered, in detail, everything from colours, what's there, where, how things work etc. It's helped us loads with getting to know each other better and started a cool thing for us: we made the document with how the inner world works, and then I started another document to see if someone else would wanna share more so almost everyone (all but 3) has answered, in incredible detail, what they look like. This continued and we started working on a document we started a while back, with what makes us happy. Where everyone answered! On top of that everyone answered (or let me/us write about, and commented on) who they are - meaning what their job was/is, how old they are, what their personality is like, how they react to things etc etc. It's awesome getting to know our system so well!

So yeah, a huge ######6 thank you to you for this!
