it's different for everyone. some only seem them inside their head, some seem them outside as obvious hallucinations, some see them outside as if they were real, some can see them both inside and outside, it all depends on the person.

we mostly see alters inside our heads, but we can see them outside sometimes as well.

When we're Hosting we all see the body I think. We just experience it a little differently, in that Mara doesn't feel comfortable in her skin inside or out, so to her the body apperas ugly. Dez is happy with her body inside but doesn't mind the "real" body either, so it appears to look nicer when she is running it. It doesn't really phase me much being in a girl body when I am Hosting. It's a bit odd really, but I guess we just feel a bit more "manish" when I am at the wheel

Yeah, well he does hallucinate a bit as well though (reality testing intact - just saying) so sometimes when he's running the show I could swear we had extra bits.. which I'd have to agree.. is odd. (Especially considering we dress consistently very girly) Though the way he sees people he dislikes is somewhat more disconcerting.. nasty as* overlays
Yeah, whatever. I don't know how you're so certain I am the only one who gets that anyway.

As for looks inside, some of us find it hard to focus on that. Mara is so used to being co-conscious she is scared to look in the mirror inside now. None of us are so hot about looking at the body in the mirror.. apart from Dez maybe


So anyway.. it's nice to write out what we view ourselves like when we're not trying to make sense of our mirror image:

Dez is a little shorter than the body, her figure is a little fuller (I got bigger boobs for one LOL), she has longer hair and her features are a little.. finer? She actually looks similar to the body. Like she could be the body's sister or cousine or something.

I am a little taller than the body. I have lighter hair than the body. I am awful skinny but strong anyway (I hate the sensation of eating and avoid it at all costs. I'd rather go hungry). I have a brown and a green eye.. but when I don't feel so good one of my eyes disappears and it is just an empty socket instead. I guess that might seem scary but I guess they're all used to it by now

Core will sometimes wear a boy body but really he doesn't need one. He kind of started off as a "kindly god".. I think we prayed him into ourselves when we were little

Elf is more like a cloud of energy, but because I want to see him he takes the shape of a great elf, in green robes, with long blond hair.
He can turn into a demon too. Because of this he can take control when things go out of control. But he s very kind and generous which makes him loved by everyone.

we thought it a fun project to collect the images that suit us. some images might trigger, although i do not know, we are not of the light enough to recognize one.

Okay, so things are a bit fuzzy today but I want to describe Mara on the inside.

Mara has dark hair and her eyes are a deep, dark brown (almost black).
She is about the body's height & build. Tall and slim.

A few of us have special powers on the inside. Mara is a Thrower.
It's a sort of telekenesis.

I usually wear a kind of uniform when I am inside. It's a mix of a geisha and nun outfit My body is bound in a very tight oriental style garment and I wear a headdress not unlike a traditional wimple with a bell attached (that is to warn others of my status as a Sister.. think Bene Gesserit or Stephen King's Little Sisters of Eluria). I wear make-up very similar to what a geisha would.

I carry a pouch of glass shards and when a threat arises the shards rise into the air around me and circle me like a shield. When I am in a high risk situation and I am alert to imminent threats I "walk on glass".. the shards trail on the floor behind me, ready to take formation.

Luckily our inside is a lot safer these days.

I don't know why I got so unsure about it all.. I guess I kept thinking I was remembering somebody else.. and getting scared I was thieving their internal identity just thinking about it. But that's me when I am inside.

Thank you for sharing that.

We found an image of Anya today - while ironically, searching for myself, who is far older and look nothing like her.

This is what Anya looks like, with the following exceptions: Anya has no mouth, has even more fearful eyes and has very long straight very white-ish yellow blonde hair. Otherwise this image is her more or less to a T. She is quite beautiful, if I might say so. I have yet to meet her.
