Superchick - Beauty from Pain

My dreams ran like sand through the fists that I made
I try to keep warm but I just grow colder
I feel like I'm slipping away

After all this has passed, I still will remain

I like the boards to connect; but i wanted to share that some of the alters in (our) system cannot read or write or type very well. We found that fingerpainting and coloring and making noise with different items is a good way to express feelings... Just wanted to put that out there. Meantime..I really love all the songs and poems that have been shared here!

Indeed. Our 6 year old will make noises that animals make but never talk or make other sounds. It's safer making sounds "for/through" someone else. There are many ways to communicate though, which have been mentioned in many threads you might find interesting, Shay.

There are many threads, they come up from time to time, about how to express oneself if one is mute or preverbal or nonverbal or what have you. Maybe you could search for posts that have to do about being mute (click the search function and write: "mute", "silent" or similar). I'll try to let you know if something comes up if I see it

I'm glad you can make noise! That's great and a very good start if you should want to make more noise later on! It can take time but Lin for example was completely mute before but with enough time she can now "borrow" Nin's voice and talk sometimes if she has to. She doesn't like it, but with enough practice she got there.

I take it from your answer to Hope that there are many things you haven't tried because you can't focus for long? Have you tried drawing or painting a very little drawing or painting? Doing something in a small scale instead of large, so you might be better able to keep your focus? There's always a way, you/we just have to find it
