Hi, i'm new to the board. i've had DID since I was a teen. But I have very little coping skills to deal with the dissociating and am feeling as though I'm the only one goi'ng through it. Does anyone else out there know what it's like to go through this???? Please reply.

Remember that. We have all had DID since we are children . I happened to make it to 36 yeasrs before my DID and past became known about. It is just as confusing, and don't feel you need to decide on the integration issue right away. I have decided we can work together in my system to make life a little easier. My brain did this to begin with, so why would I think I individually could make life easier by cutting out the others?
You will be okay. Just remember, it was that beautiful brain of yours that allowed you to survive at all costs. You are a survivor and can do so many things others cannot. Allow yourself a pat on the back. The self-esteem issues are born and bred in our rearing environment. But you are somebody special and you will be okay!!!
Love,
