I have not known much about layers and circles...except just in passing - so it is interesting to understand more. Is this why someone might 'diagram'? To see the relation to each other?

I see how you have had some awareness of Cassie from 8... but can I ask how long it took for most of everyone to come out? I realized last night how fast things have changed. The first 'conscious' switch was just this April ... 4 short months and 9 new members of my family. I know there is probably one more at least...but just wondering your experience... did you learn about the majority of your system members in a short period of time? It does make it a little easier that some don't mind if they come 'out' or not...I'm not sure how one balances equal time as the numbers increase...

Anyway, what you wrote was quite helpful and I appreciate the link...I will be reading that when I have more time to absorb. Take care and thank you for sharing so freely!

I had typed out an actual reply, but it disappeared somewhere between the "preview" button and the "submit" button. Needless to say, I'm a bit irritated now to write a new one, but I will return to do so. Long story short, however, in 2009 I was aware of 4 alters, and now I'm up to 13 in 2012. So you're not alone in the quick additions to your family.
