Physical Trauma Causing DID-type symptoms

Thanks for advice doe-eyed. I think I must have gotten really sick when I was 3 (ear infection? they can be really painful) and the feelings of helplessness at the hands of my mother along with the pain may have caused some fracturing.

That could do it. I read that Stephen King also got really bad ear infections when he was young. Those can be painful! And for such a young person not knowing what's going on, just this pain in their head, well, that could certainly be a reason for dissociation. As of now, there are really no set rules for what can or can't make you dissociate. It depends on the person/age/situation/genetics/etc.

Well that's how it the current mess I'm in got started when I was 15 (not just possible DID, but cranial problems and delayed onset food allergies [auto-immune]). Had a bunch of really bad ear infections and jaw pain and my parents couldn't help me even after taking me from doctor after doctor...must have re-awakened that part of me or something, along with all the hormones and crap from puberty anyway.
