Cats meow- how annoying that you were interrupted and lost the trail of the session. That would really rile me up especially if the therapist then went outside to deal
With her. But then I'm one of those clients who likes to think sometimes they are the only client lol.

Astronomer - sorry to hear bout your girlfriend. I hope she's talking better now?

Sorry for short replies. Am on my phone and cant type essays on this thing!

I am really spoiling the little's these last few days considering the events this weekend.

Today we went to sainsburys and kerry came across the dinosaur that our therapist has in his office. Much to her delight: "look! he actually bought it from a shop for me!"

So I bought her a small book on dinosaurs so she can read about them and impress our T with her knowledge ;)

she was so upset in session today - I'm glad she has cheered up with some attention from our therapist - I guess I have been shutting them out a little bit, from therapy anyway. Heh.

Aww that's sweet. I'm glad Kerry cheered up too.

I just found out yesterday that someone is doing their renewal of vows tomorrow in our back yard!!!
That's so cool!

Of course the kid in question showed up once I was out of session.
kids. :D I'm glad you and your T were able to work on a resolution till next session. :D

Today was pretty neutral for me;
Neutral can be good. Sorry to hear about your SO, sometimes it seems the best thing one can do is be there for the other. Do you think if you send her a ecard, or something sweet, it might brighten her day?

I know that I take up a disproportionate amount of my T's time outside of session, so I was OK with her dealing with someone in crisis who thought that it was her session time. Of course, the kid who was interrupted was much more displeased, which is why she vanished for the rest of the session. I am well aware that my T has around 20 clients, however I like to think that I am her favorite!

Spoiling sounds good! Everyone can use a bit of spoiling. :) I saw your post on your blog- the littles really can be heartbreaking sometimes, can't they?

Thanks, Borg!

Theastronomer, I hope that your girlfriend is doing better soon! It's hard to see our loved ones suffer.

Yes :( But it is making me see that I was beginning to be a time-hogger again. Not massively. But I was stopping random switches in therapy and stuff.

Had such an exhausting but brilliant day. Typically the way my friendships work is I have a number of friends but none of them know each other. But at the moment my two best friends are spending a lot of time with each other and getting to know each other and it is so great. I couldn't be happier that we can hang out as a three (and a half (a baby))-some. I am going to sleep with a smile on my face tonight. :)

How about everyone else? How have your days been?

I've written and deleted three different replies to three different threads, so I'm obviously not feeling communicative today. I'm doing OK. I'm on a waiting-list for therapy and I've just found out that it's not as long as I feared it would be, so that's good.

That is great news. What type of therapy is it? Long term psychotherapy or similar? I will keep my fingers crossed that your time comes ASAP.

No, just time-limited CBT stuff, but I look on it as safety/preparation. I've already had one round and it helped with the flashbacks, anxiety, etc. so I'm looking to build on that. I know I'm going to have to deal with trauma stuff at some point and the idea terrifies me. I'd like to have some 'tools' in place before I contemplate it.

Exactly.

Before I went into long term therapy I did a DBT course. Similar to CBT I guess. It was EXTREMELY helpful in preparing me for this trauma stuff. I was so grateful for getting the chance to go through that course. At the time it didn't feel like it was helping much but I stuck with it did all the homework and now I think it was exactly what I needed.
