vision jerk

Postby candyr2911 » Sun Jun 03, 2012 8:09 am

Hi

Is this a DID thing? Sometimes I can be staring at something, even for a short while and suddenly its like your vision jerks a little, like what you are looking at slightly shifts out of place and back into place within a second. Is that DID? Did I switch?

I have that too, and I have no idea why.
My vision is rather funny, on a side note though, I was having pressure and blurriness in one eye, I thought it might be DID but it turned out it was probably glaucoma. Little icky info....The symptoms got worse till a vessel burst in my eye. Then it got better so I never went to the Dr. :)

That sux :( I hope you got it sorted out ok and you feeling better now? I also have blurry eyes from time to time but I think its because I work on the computer all day literally everyday. My eyes are very strained from the computer. When I wake up in the morning though they are fine because they've had a rest - but my vision jerked this morning before I had even got onto the computer so it can't be too much computer.

Do you also sometimes have your body jerk just randomly for no apparent reason? I'll be sitting working and next min my body jerks. I sometimes have that happen when I sleep and I wake up when it happens.

Oh, don't worry, I found it amusing actually. Visions all better, and no dr. visit. So yeah!

my vision jerked this morning before I had even got onto the computer so it can't be too much computer.

Do you also sometimes have your body jerk just randomly for no apparent reason? I'll be sitting working and next min my body jerks. I sometimes have that happen when I sleep and I wake up when it happens.

The vision jerks seem to happen at random for me. Makes it hard to read. Or sometimes, it feels like I'm moving when I'm not, like my vision will move, but I'm sitting still so I get rather dizzy from that. Sorry not much help.

With body jerks, I will feel a rush towards my body, and jerk from that. And the sleep jerks where I'll just kick or slap air.

Were you spacing out? Did you feel like you were in a trance?

Or sometimes my eyes will suddenly be directed into focusing into something I was not aware of. For example, once it went like this:

Other part: hey..
Me: heard voice (surprised to hear a "voice" in my head!)..Eyes got pointed towards looking at a paper towel scrap that looked like a joint.
Other part: Hey man that thing looks like a joint (in a stoner sounding voice)

Before this other part said "hey", I didn't even notice that piece of paper towel. It's like they are always looking out my (our) eyes and occasionally pipe up and draw something to my occasion.

P.S. I say other part because I haven't made direct contact with him yet.

I haven't noticed any vision jerks. The only weird vision thing I do is space out a lot.

I get these though. My body gets twitchy. I twitch in my sleep too. IDK if it's muscle spasms or what, but I just get twitchy. It is usually just small jerks here and there, but sometimes it can go on for quite a while in the same spot. When that happens, that muscle gets really sore. Nothing I do stops it. I try stretching, moving, wiggling. I just have to ride it out but luckily it never seems to go on for more than an hour.

I've never had any vision jerks. The strangest vision things I get are probably derealisation from time to time...

Yeah I get body jerks quite a lot. During the day and while I'm sleeping too. I find it scares me usually because I'm not expecting it. I particularly hate it when it wakes me up from sleeping.
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.

I was told by an opticians that I have accommodative eye spasms which basically means my lens are constantly contracting and relaxing and never take a break to focus on things. They put it down to "stress". Don't they always.

Since learning about the DID iv tried to examine when this happens and if it's got anything to do with switching.

When I switch I do experience what you could describe as vision jerks. As someone else orients into the body and eyes. I have a lot of stuff that goes on in my eyes that I could now put down to the did. The eye spasms are really uncomfortable and painful. But knowing what could be causing it helps in an odd way to deal with it.

Anyway just wanted to say I can relate. Body jerks are also a huge did sign for me. I know I'm very switchy when my body is jerking uncontrollably. Sometimes for 15 minutes at a time.

NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE has understood when I said my vision jerked! It always does. It shakes for a second or two and then goes back to normal. And as for the body jerks, I get them as well.

Same here- At times I can hear what a part says when I jerk. A young boy part tends to jerk my hips back and forth, especially when with a female (he feels comfortable/safe with females). A cool guy part shrugs my shoulders and sometimes I'll hear him say something like "hey no worries". Once my hand jerked into giving the middle finger when I was talking with my boss...Very happy he didn't see it haha!

Sort of like your brain or eyes are moving around? I get that too- happens when I am dissociating and helps me notice I'm falling out of control.

Seems like these are definitely related to DID!
