Tylas
Do not give up.I do not always agree with everything you post but understand a lot is the latest, theories and acadimic views on DID and it's treatment. I spoke about this with my T ,last session, and she agree the mental health industry is still struggling with the understanding the DID disorder and treatment.I find what others and you post interesting.Do not take any comment as a direct attack on you so much as in that the present therories and treatments are not fitting all with the DID disorder. Remember DID is multidimensional and spectral and one size does not fit everyone with this disorder. Also remember their are some in the group that have been dealing actively with this disorder for decades and have seen many theroies, treatments come and go that were championed to be the next new fix. Understand that some take the next new fix with a grain of salt because of dealing with this disorder for so long and have seen to many times the next new fix come and go.It's great you are trying to find answer to help in your healing and trying to help others.

You are sweet, but I did not take it as an attack. I took it as hopeless.

If those that have DID cannot look at things, using information about the brain that is known, what hope is there getting the rest of the world to do this?

My talked to my LC and he was ready to dig out all kinds of references for all those here, but I told him it's not worth the time.

It seems that so many here feel that if what they see is a flat world, then by heck it's a flat world.

:D

I just hate having DID so misunderstood. Dr. Phil was just too much! How can he be so brain dead!

Wow Tylas!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am no expert but from what I gathered from my own experience you are absolutely right about DID, DDNOS, etc. and you are right there is a lot of misinformation out there :D

I thought the point of this thread was to help Tracy. I din't realize that it was a thread to debate and argue points which no one can have a difinitive, 100%, total, complete, "this is it" answer to!

Knowing that the world is round doesn't stop me from looking for a flat spot in the yard to set up the pool.

Speaking as a long-time inhabitant of Flat World, I have DID and my mind is not totally reliable as a source of infinite wisdom about DID, the brain or anything else. Over the past year I have actually changed my beliefs and perceptions about a lot of things. Come to think of it, I think all of us here have done that. I believe that's not only a good thing, it's the only way to mental health for us. So please forgive me if it's not my habit to accept, without consideration, comments anyone, DID or not, makes on this forum as ultimate, unassailable, unchanging truth or even as partly accurate. I do like references that can support a point someone's making. Gosh, I usually even read them. Yes, some of us in Flat World can read, come on!

That is the outcome I hope for! :D

I am celebrating!!!!

My mind is of course is not totally reliable either, but I have someone who I do share a bit with all of you - (who is BRILLIANT, extremely knowledgeable and almost 70 who has been working and changing for a LONG TIME! - without getting stuck in the pool for too long.) He is kicking my butt and he keeps me moving, learning and out of the pool in more ways than one! There is a place where everyone can accept and understand DDNOS-1 and DID and I simply want to find that place.

A place where no one is saying that

-----DID is JUST caused by therapists,
It is NOT caused from abuse to children
It is just all in our heads, etc... :D

Also - for those that have not been following Dr. Phil and Tracy:
The reason this thread came to this point is the comment thread on the Dr. Phil show! Tracy was treated horribly by MANY commenters (including those with DID! - because they do not have enough education about DID!) and by Dr. Phil (for the same reason) himself in a portion of the show that was cut! There were many questions about what Tracy said and how she acted.. etc... This is why this thread went in this direction. It's not so much what was posted in this exact thread, but in relation to what Tracy has gone through during and since that show.
