*TRIGGER* Alter wants me to be anorexic

Postby w4rp3dh4l0 » Tue May 08, 2012 11:10 pm

I have an alter, Mouth, who is very ashamed of our body. In about six months, we've went from 115-120 pounds, to 140. I think it's because we're on the depo shot. (Birth control). We exorcise every day for about an hour and a half to two hours, and we've been doing it for about a month. I think some of the weight is muscle mass. (Muscle weighs more than fat.)

I am really upset that I'm this "heavy" but to make sure it's muscle and not fat, I took a measurement of my body with a tape measure, and I'm going to check myself weekly to see if I'm loosing any inches. I'm also cutting out my late night snacks and drinking diet soda and water.

Mouth, however, is trying to pursuade us to be anorexic. She thinks it's the best idea, and is really pushing for it. When she sees ourselves in the mirror, she says mean things like "Here fatty, fatty, fatty!" When we eat, she "moo's" at us. She's really upsetting me.

Any ideas how I can get her to stop?

I would ask her why she feels it would be the best thing to be anorexic? I've been there and it is pure hell. Being anorexic is not something you do because you want to lose weight and think its the easiest way. I wouldn't say being anorexic is something you can choose. I'm sure you kno all the dangers of eating disorders which is why you're doing it the right way: exercise and cutting out the unnecessaries such as full bodied soda. I would ask Mouth why this isn't enough for her? Is there a way of you both compromising? What is it about anorexia that she wants to do?

Mouth says...

I feel like we can't control our weight, and controling when we eat is the only way we're going to make any progress. I'm tired of looking the way that I do, putting all this effort into loosing weight but we're gaining! I don't want to stay anorexic, just...stop eating for a while, until our body slims down, then going to a much smaller diet so we don't put the weight back on. Nobody listens to me though. I feel so alone with this, and I don't understand why she won't do it for like...a month? Two? Just until we loose about twenty pounds. It shouldn't take that long if we're not eating and (I want to double our exorcising but she won't do that either).

I'm....frusterated. And I want control.

I know Mouth. I know you want control. But a sure fire way of losing control is by giving it over to the anorexia who will take over your whole mind. It won't last a month. You'll want more and more and more. It will become an addiction: the weight loss, the starvation, the feel of being light headed and starving. Why cant you go on a smaller diet from go and just let yourself understand and appreciate that this is a journey and the slower you lose the pounds the longer they will stay off. Crash dieting is a long bumpy road to nowhere.

You aren't alone. I had a friend express concern about my eating- "you're going to develop anorexia". I said "No I'm not, I will stop when I get to X weight".

I didn't. I didn't stop for 8 years.
