Is it wrong of me to wish my SO's protective alters would stand up for me once in awhile too?
We're dealing with a complete jerk who won't leave us alone and keeps saying terrible things about us.
*** trigger warning: language***
This guy has called my SO a cheap whore and a sinner. Meanwhile, I've been labeled a rapist and pedophile.
*** End trigger warning***
Unfortunately, he hasn't done anything I can take him to court for.
But back to my main point. We're both stressed out with all this plus the normal stresses of life. I told her I would always support and protect her, and I will. I guess, I'm just stressed out and wish someone would stick up for me too. Not to mention, all three of her protectors have razor sharp wits and I get a chuckle out of their comments.
Dx: Depression, Bipolar II
SO to a wonderful woman with DID.
To my sweetie: If you could see yourself the way I do you'd fall more in love with yourself everyday.

it isn't wrong to want to be validated or to have others stand up for you. But remember....this person who is bothering you ... Do you respect them? Love them? Does this person care for you? If not....their opinion has no merit. right? Both of you should pay attention to those who care for you for who you are. and..if I could venture....the protectors, if they have a sense of 'how things work' might actually be protecting you anyway by not engaging. You might have meant just some sort of verbal sparring - but that could lead to physical...and in my state - it doesn't matter who throws the first punch or if it even hurts...both parties are arrested and charged. And that would just be more stress. Take care!

Thank you, HopeIsHere.
I didn't think about it that way. You're very right.
