How many alters are usual for a person with D.I.D.?
Is it possible to only have one (therefore 2 personalitys total)?

Heres a good Wikipedia article on D.I.D, hopefully it can answer some of your questions
They can't touch me while I'm alive, and after I'm dead, who cares?

Hi, again, PsiWraith,
The criteria states that there are at least two distinct identities or personality states.
At least two of these personalities repeatedly assume control of the patient's behavior.
Eve, from the three faces of Eve, had three.
If it is okay to ask, have you been dx DID? I believe you stated in a different thread that someone pointed out to you that you were DID.
Wishing you peace,

In Three Faces of Eve, only 3 of Eve's identities were brought out because the others were "discovered" later on as Chris Costner Sizemore explains in her book "I'm Eve". The book was rather poorly written but it did describe from "Eve" herself (Chris Costner Sizemore) the events of her life as a multiple. "Sybil" is another fascinating read on DID. DID is difficult to diagnose but professional help is out there. One just has to find a professional that they trust to disclose to.

KansasCatlover,
Thankyou. I did not know that. I did not read the book. It's only what i heard.
Maybe you could correct me on this as well...something else i heard or read and have wondered about concerning Eve.
Is it true that she claimed she was never abused but developed DID after witnessing a milling accident (or some sort of accident) in which people were killed? Just curious.
Thanks for any information you can provide.
best wishes,

yes, stolen, this seemed to be the defining moment for Eve (Chris). If I remember right, when she was about 3 years old she witnessed the severed body of a man that was cut in half (and the pools of blood he lay in) in a milling accident and it was just too horrific for her little mind to wrap itself around so she disassociated herself to be able to cope with what she couldn't have otherwise.

No. But I've told my psych about Katlin...she just kinda said "huh...that's cool..." But didn't bring it up again.
Sorry for all the questions...it's just that although there is a lot of "evidence" for that being the case...I'm not sure. Seems odd, but, Even Katiln says it doesn't sound right. I just wanted to see if my situation was "obviously this" or maybe something else completely...
Weird?

PsiWraith, if I might ask? What "evidence" do you think you have that might support the presence of another personality? And how did you present the evidence to your psychiatrist? Is Katlin the alter you are speaking of? Are you able to converse with her within yourself? Or does she just "take over" your body and spirit completely?

Well, she's...here. She exsists. I know it. But does that mean that I have D.I.D.? I'm not so sure...
Yes, We do talk in our head all the time.
She can take over and does on occasion, but usualy lets me handle stuff. (she's not very sociable...)
And. I just told her like it is. "There's another person running around in my head. Her name is Katiln. She says hi."
But she acted like she didn't care...
Further dought that I have D.I.D.
