I am starting to think it is NOT DID for a few reasons. The main one is that my "people" don't front. They just stay inside their worlds and don't come out. And only one (the one I have had the longest) knows about MY world and can see it through me but still never interacts with it. He is also able to go to everyone else's worlds. I also do not ever lose time more than the occasional case of driving but that happens to everyone I think. So maybe I just have an EXTREMELY vivid group of imaginary friends.
Thank you for the help though. You have all been very supportive. :)

If anyone read my post as encouragement to self-diagnose with online tests, it wasn't my intention. :P

Your post was actually quite helpful. I know you don't mean for anyone to self diagnose. :) It helped me figure out some of the distinctions between DID and what I understand to be occuring with my people. Thank you for that. It was incredibly helpful. :)

I did not think you were, even if it sounded that way.

As much as I warn people against not self-diagnosing.... I did it! --- but all I ended up with was more questions.

It's human nature to try and figure out what is wrong with you. I just want to encourage everyone to see a professional. I think because it's one of the hardest things I did in my life and I don't want anyone else to try and go it alone. It takes longer and it's frustrating. Bite the bullet and get help instead of wondering.

I have another question and I don't want to block up the forum with silly questions.
Considering that I don't seem to be fitting the DID description fully, do you think it would still be a good idea to keep a journal about my others and what is going on with us?
Also, should I change to another therapist who takes this seriously or is it not enough of a problem to change over?
Any answers would be greatly appreciated. I am so happy to find a place where other people experience something a bit similar to me. :)

.

Your questions are not silly and you don't block up the forum in any way! Questions help everyone here learn more. Yes, a journal or online blog is a perfect thing to do. It lets all parts of yourself communicate with each other and work on a combined project.

You do need to find a T that you are comfortable with - whatever that means to you.

At first, my explanation of what was going on with me was so off the wall and vague that it certainly did not seem to be DDNOS-1 or DID. It was more of PTSD. What you notice and describe today, does not mean you have or do not have DDNOS or DID. It might just mean you are not aware of all that is going on with you yet. I doubt any of us are actually. Stay and ask all the questions you want. It helps you learn and the rest of us learn.
