I know how to get to mine but don't have a way to describe it to someone. For me, slipping into the inner world is like breathing. I just do it.
How can those of us that are able to go to the inner world explain to those with DID that can't how to do it?

For me, it's a little like remembering something that you've forgotten for a while.
It's also like when I read a book that I've read a long time ago and don't remember half of it when I start, and then I begin to remember; but after so many years since the last time, I also notice things I've completeley forgotten about and some new stuff I never noticed before.

it depends. sometimes it takes great effort for me to 'join them' in the room. other times I slip in without even realising it as the body goes in a trance. It depends on MY mental state.

Thank you, Under Ice and Bourbon. I was trying to explain to someone on this forum about finding their internal world but couldn't figure out how to put it into words.
For me, I was first taken there in a dream. From then on, I can get there. I usually focus on something and in seconds I am in the Woods.

I take Dark by the hand and lead her there when it is needed. Other than that she either just turns up or has to focus really hard. She describes it as "kinda like meditating". The rest of us are there most of the time but we can just move between inner world and the outside world with as much ease as breathing. Perhaps because we came from in here. We were born and our rooms were there ready and waiting for us.
