question for alters :)

so I was wondering, when your not out, where are you? is it like a mental house and everyone has their own rooms? how doe it work?

A few here have "inner worlds" that they retreat to, but I have no real experience with an elaborate inner world, so maybe the others can shed some light.

I like to say we don't have one (and I will still claim we don't, because I don't see it as a world), but our "inner world" isn't at all elaborate, and in fact, I can best describe it as a place of nothing, with no light except a candle. It is very, very dark, and it makes communication difficult for us. Currently, two hide in the dark, and won't come closer to our light, and one of them doesn't speak. Other than them, communication with Adri is the most difficult. Since she doesn't speak, she writes, and unless she's close, we can't speak. Of course, we don't huddle around all the time. I doubt you'd be able to sit in one spot for hours, sometimes days, or weeks, on end either

I hope that makes sense I know it's a bit confusing.

When we are not in the body, we are in the Bad Lands. It is the place that we all live. Its not a pretty place like things are when I am in the body, but it has trees and rocks and dirt. The sky is grey or black. Usually it is not raining or not too windy, but bad things are happening and now it is raining hard with lots of thunder from the sky. The ground is shaking a lot and big cracks are in the ground. The bad room is on the other side of the big crack in the ground so we can't get over there. We tried to push one of the trees that fell down over to crack but the crack was to big and the tree just fell in the hole. But now big rocks are climbing out of the cracks so we will have bigger rocks to hide. That's good because the other rocks are not big and only some kids can hide all the way. Others cannot hide all the way and monsters can see them. Ms. Virginia says we are unstable and cracking up.

RJP is one of the bad alters. He got real bad and took Amelia. She is our core. Now we are trying to hear her again and we hope she can come back and take care of us. If she can come back then maybe Lyn and Big Tom will come back with her. They went into the bad room and then went into the bad house on the other side of that door in the bad room.

I like it better in the body for pretty things, but I am afraid someone will take me and steal me and do bad things. The Bad Lands are safer for us.

All I have "seen" of the inner world is a cave and a very very white room, glaringly so, with a chair.

We have a fairly big and busy inner world. Everyone has either their own bedroom, or shares with one other person. We also have communal rooms, which is where most communication takes place.

Our main's room is very dark and simple. She sleeps when she's inside. We theorise that this is because usually she is inside when she needs a break to recover from whatever has been going on.

Our house goes several levels underground, and beyond the house are forests and hills, filled with caves where many who no longer wish to be even close to the "front" live.

I've 'seen' a chair, a door, a spotlight, which are more in my head I suppose, down further near my heart is I 'saw' some type of 'veil' the insiders can go behind, and then I can't feel them anymore, but when they cross that veil I can feel them more depending on how close to the 'front' they are, then there's dreamstuff which may or maynot be a representation of the inside, houses, rooms, blah, blah, blah. And I can only 'see' these things when I'm really, really, really foggy. :shrugs:
I'm just in awe in some inner world details.

Back in April, when we were just figuring stuff out, our interior room looked (basically) like an umbrella with each triangle being its own separate room.

Now, its more like a room with a light switch, like if a retractable-roof stadium was covered in white everywhere but the breaker kept getting hit by TK in fits of rage.

When we're not out, we're inside - in our inner world. We have an entire inside world.

Our inner world is very developed. There are many parts to it including a house, a beach, a wooded area, and a meeting area. Azel put a river in the middle of the woods recently. All areas are safe except for the first floor and basement of the house. ~Jill
